A technical analysis course will teach you that if you can survive and live through several years of commodity trading every price pattern will be seen ( look at that again ). All the rest of repetition of those patterns . One of the interesting things about trading in commodities is that as you watch markets move up , and other markets are bottomed out , (the end of bear markets) you can remind yourself “O.K. is it their turn to move up next .” Of course, Without doubt, the cycle is begun once again, some working from the top down and some working from the bottom up. Each market will stop going down in price they move from side to side for awhile and then advance in price . Bear markets always end in commodities, and there’s always an end to bull markets .

What I’ve just talked about represents a philosophical long term approach to analysis of the market prices. Basically , if in the last year or two there’s been a downturn in market prices, the bear market is coming to an end , and eventually all commodities will start to rise again . This can be realized almost without looking at a chart . But when you analyze charts with a technical analysis course, you can see the bear trend is ending and a position can be taken by the trader .

It’s not possible to use the assumption for trading that by being aware of general movements of prices by thinking about them or reading it in the news , that it will help you in the long term to figure out the way prices will move . In most cases you cannot restrict limits on losses with this approach once you enter the market , due to an adverse price movement or once profits have accumulated . For those that don’t use charting in up markets, for example, are taken by surprise by a bear trend or a bear crack . It’s essential to have chart analysis for the protection against losses and protection of profits !  Take a technical analysis course first before you put your money on the line .
