Remodeling Nothing Single Said It Would Be Easy

I have blogged about our small 1950’s Bungalow in the Ft Lauderdale domain of South Florida. The single we were disappearing to flip however I merely fell in love with. Got through the Terrazzo being discovered and restored. Loved it! Told you about my research for the least pricey marble that I can find for my depleted price recent kitchen. Marble Repair approached to my rescue with that also.

I preceding said “now on to the Lanai!” Just a fancy discussion for patio it seems, however I love the discussion and how it rolls off your tongue! So tropical a discussion Lanai! Sad matter is it was painted and cracked Concrete with a whole lot of cracking and chipping disappearing on. Zero I wasn’t fortunate to have anything pretty elsewhere there, and with this small Bungalow, an elsewhere doorway room is so necessitated, particularly for the days like now, where I am riding elsewhere and executing this blog…on my Lanai!

So off I leave searching on Google ( the best matter since healthy, browsers I think) to find elsewhere what we can do about this and what a Lanai shall look like? Which as I find elsewhere merely process Roofed patio or a city in Hawaii, however I however love the word! Nice breeze with a roof finished my top and cracked concrete, painted this hideous color! What to do?

After seeing at a good deal of pictures of dissimilar designs making use of dissimilar flooring material. It approached to me. The roof is in fine condition, the poles are a bit ugly, nevertheless my husband can modify that well and Colonial also makes concrete work. After searching the web, I saw a picture of the what I would love MY Lanai to look like this (without the pool in the setting unhappily to state) .

Look at the concrete floor, the colour and texture? Well I did, good outside so I named my friend at Colonial (yes we have get here to be familiar with all last best) and dispatch him this picture, and he said,” yea we probably can do that to your concrete”. He approached good finished the succeeding calendar day to talk about it.

Once more I was in amazement that this can be over to old concrete. I knew newly poured concrete can be colored and stamped, however never opinion that it can be colored and designed after so a good deal of years and in such awful condition! Now remember this is cracked and chipped ugly, paint coming off it, weeds developing elsewhere of the crack concrete I have. But! It has a fine roof finished it. So a large amount can be designed from this, and now with the direction decorative concrete is through. I can leave with what this expression like this picture, the Loft look, a few imperfections, however beautified by fill in the cracks and chips, grinding it down to what is named the “freshest layer” and then possessing a “acid stain” put on it in the colour of my picking out. I am told this stain will react to my own old concrete’s distinctive composition and the acid stain (water established also..got to consider of the Eco element here.) reacts chemically to provide it that varigated look of this picture. A densifier can be gave to strengthen the old concrete! I required effortless and clear and shine. Transition from indoors to elsewhere doors.

I taken all possibilities to my husband for a conclusion to be finished. After significant period ( about 10 minutes). He said as constantly ” lets do what ever you consider is best” as he conceeded that the roof was in fine condition and why separate up concrete that can be saved.

So I am getting my rustic, acid stain, polished concrete over shortly. And after the concrete is through. The design will begin, and in a hardly a tiny work weeks I will finally have my Lanai. Oh I however love that word!
